Cut-off filters
The blue light components of the visible spectrum can cause glare because it is precisely this light component that is strongly scattered at the blurring of the cornea, the eye lens and the vitreous body.
This short-wave, energy-rich component of the visible spectrum, which leads to substantial scattering and reduced visual performance and contrast, can be absorbed by cut-off filters. These special filters completely absorb short-wave blue and violet light.
There are cut-off filters with an absorption edge of varying wavelengths (e.g. 450nm, 511nm, 527nm, 550nm).
